Kolkata Knight Riders needed a strong start in the second-half and they produced it against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
A superb performance, especially with the ball, resulted in a nine-wicket victory against Virat Kohli and Co.
Batting first, RCB were bowled for a mere 92 on board. Varun Chakaravarthy, the player of the match, picked three wickets for just for just 13 runs while Andre Russell conceded nine and removed three batsmen. Lockie Ferguson and Prasidh Krishna also bowled well.
Kohli, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell failed to make an impact in the match.
In the chase, Shubman Gill and debutante Venkatesh Iyer provided a great start to their team. Gill departed after scoring 48 but Venkatesh remained unbeaten on 41 to help his team seal the win in 10 overs.
With the win, KKR moved up to fifth spot on the table.
